Since announcing the new strategy at the start of 2017 we have been active on all fronts to improve the business. In 2018 we started to work on a future proof ESG programme. Everyone at NSI has been involved in establishing the ESG programme. We have considered the UN Sustainable Development Goals and have engaged with external stakeholders to come up with what we believe is a well-rounded programme.

Personnel & organisation

NSI aims to create healthy, inspiring and flexible working environments for its tenants and promotes a healthy way of working for its employees. Moreover, we aim to have a positive impact on the community. NSI considers an active lifestyle important to the health and well-being of its employees, and it therefore promotes physical activity, healthy nutrition and a healthy work-life balance.

The NSI employee gender breakdown was 33% female (2017: 39%) and 67% male (2017: 61%). The breakdown on the Management Board was 33% female to 67% male (identical to 2017), while there was an equal 50-50 split on the Supervisory Board (2017: 40% female and 60% male).

NSI received its first GRESB score in September 2019 and obtained 71 points out of 100.  This is our base line now, already almost on par with the GRESB average of 72 points.

Our ambition runs much higher and plans are already in place to make a further push, which should help us to obtain a further step up in our GRESB score next year and thereafter.
